My highlight at Corning Life Science was devising and implementing a solution for
labeling 25ml bottles on three sides. Most of the work here was done automatically.
However, one specific batch of 25ml bottles needed a long sticker that was
wrapping around the bottle. This was done manually and took days for every batch.
After doing some research, I realized that the labeler we were already using
could solve this issue with some modifications. My college and I built
the foam attachment and in tandem with a vertical belt made the bottles
spin and pressed the labels against every side of the bottle.
For this improvement I was awarded the iKaizen of the First Quarter.
